Meeting ConductAll members are encourage to review Robert's Rules of Order. These rules are guidelines to be followed at meetings, which include, members rights, right for the Club to do business, how to make a motion and procedures to request a vote.

Whiteshell Community Club By-Laws (Summary)
The Whiteshell Community Club has 3 by-laws pertaining to the organization of the Club; located below is a summary of each. Members may request a full copy of the by-laws by contacting the President.
By-law 1 - Transaction of Business and Affairs
1. Membership Dues

By-law 2 - Financial Obligations
1. The Board of Directors are authorized to borrow money and use the Club has
collateral
2. The Board of Directors can limit or increase the amount of money borrowed
3. The Board of Directors can guarantee the repayment of debts
By-law 3 - Service of Liquor
1. Service of liquor is permitted to members
2. Each member may sign in 2 guests
3. These guests are allowed to be served liquor
4. No liquor shall be sold or served when the premises are being used by the
Falcon Beach School for a sponsored activity
5. Special occasion permits must be obtained to serve liquor at events where
non-members will be present
6. Bartenders will be certified by Smart Choices Manitoba
By-law 1 - Transaction of Business and Affairs
1. Membership Dues
- The Directors will set the price of dues
- Family Memberships will be made available
- Family consist of immediate family members (2 adults, and children under 18)
- No organization memberships will be issues
2. Voting
- Each member over the age of 18 has the right to vote
- Members may assign their vote by written proxy
3. Members Meetings
- The Annual General Meeting will be held every fall
- There shall be 3 other general meetings throughout the year
- Special meetings may be requested by the Board or by at least 7 members
- Requests for special meetings are to be made to the secretary in writing
- Once a request for a special meeting is received the Board will have 2 weeks to announce the meeting
4. Quorum
- Fifteen (15) members make up a quorum
- A quorum must be present to request a vote
5. Directors
- The daily business of the Club is managed by a Board of Directors
- 2/3 of the Board must be present to conduct business
- To be a Director, the member must have paid his/her fees
- Directors are elected at the Annual General Meeting
- Any members may be elected
- Directors are not allowed to be paid for their services
- Directors may be removed from office, should 2/3 of all members vote to do so at a members meetings or at a special meeting
6. Committees
- There shall be at least 6 committees
- Committee Chair Persons shall be appointed by vote
- If no member wishes to be elected, the board will appoint a member to the position
7. Executive Committee
- The Executive Committee will consist of the President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, 4 General Board Members and Committee Chairpersons
- The Executive Committee will meet monthly
8. Other
- The Board of Director has the right to employ legal counsel
- The Board of Director has the right to employ financial counsel
- The Board of Director has the right to approve projects which are deemed necessary to the daily function of the club (example - they can choose how to repair the sink upstairs but cannot choose to install a skateboard park without calling a member meeting)
